Urban fantasy fans, do you enjoy stories with "detective" plots, or do these bug you?

It depends on the execution. However, in a fantasy novel a detective style plot often annoys me. I prefer a quest-type novel with a LOT of action and fighting. However, I'm a girl so I also appreciate a bit of chemistry on the side, so long as it doesn't overshadow the real point of the story.
